We have arrived at the time of the year again where we build up a shopping list more expensive than Karl Lagerfeld's sunglasses collection.

As Spring/Summer draws near, autumn tones along with leather and khaki (or leather khaki) sweep to the back of your wardrobe, while girly trends proceed to shine through.

There are ten key trends this season, which I feel have shone through best in three power-houses, inner-girl in Valentino, power prints in Peter Pilotto and metallic madness in Burberry: all modelled by equally 'in' model Cara Delevingne.

If you read my blog you will already be familiar with the ten key trends this season: black, white (monochrome), chequers, stripes, oriental, frills, metallics, slouch, suit and floral. As I'm sure you know, each of these looks should only really be worn as one statement piece whether accessory or clothing item.

Thick textures have melted into the ground along with the snow and the sunshine is stripping back our layers to make a Chelsea-girl turned hippy laid-back look. Also, it is good to be experimental with this season's prints but don't try all the trends if they aren't for you.

For example, I look like a Quality Street wrapper draped in metallics and oriental is not for the pale skinned.

Although the look you should be going for is your inner chic Barbie Doll; be bold with prints: break the rules and wear stripes with cheques.
