A meeting is being held in Keynsham to outline a vision for regenerating the river through the town.

The River Avon Corridor Group, a panel of expert volunteers who have looked at the potential of the Avon locally, will be presenting their findings next Friday. The group will put forward ideas for social, leisure and economic activities at a public meeting at the Fry Club at 6.30pm.

Bath and North East Somerset Council river champion Councillor Dave Laming, who sits on the group, said: "The picture to be painted by the group at the Fry Club will go some way to giving a positive and exciting lift for the people of Keynsham.

"It will be their chance to become involved in providing new employment opportunities, the creation of a water-based leisure facility of national importance, offer alternative energy initiatives and introduce new innovative but affordable homes."
