Swimming quintet help to sink Germans

Five Bath-based swimmers helped Britain to victory against Germany at the Wales National Pool in Swansea.

Michael Jamieson had an impressive double victory in the 100m and 200m breaststroke with times of 1:02.94mins and 2:13.29 respectively.

Chris Walker- Hebborn took second place in the men's 100m backstroke in 56.80secs after a close- fought battle with fellow Bath swimmer Matt Clay, who finished third in 57.03.

Clay was also runner-up in the 50m backstroke in an impressive 25.86, just losing out to World Champion Liam Tancock.

The women's 200m butterfly saw Jessica Dickons take first place and five points for Great Britain, finishing in a time of 2:12.42.

Ian Hulme, who also trains at the British Gas Intensive Training Centre at the University of Bath, also took part in Britain's victory by 102 points to 56.
