A country pub near Bath is being sold to make way for new investment.

The Crown at Tolldown, near Dyrham, has been put on the market by brothers Mark and Matthew Warburton after nine years.

The pair, who also own the Old House at Home pub at Burton, which is near Chippenham, bought the Crown in 2003.

The brothers also run The Northey in Box, which they bought in 2004.

Its kitchen has just been refurbished after a fire in June.

Amy Samson, from the Lifestyle Agency which represents the brothers' OHH company, confirmed The Crown had been sold and that new owners were due to take over on October 1.

She said: "This is because the two Warburton brothers, Mark and Matthew, will be concentrating their time on the two freehold properties and developing more rooms in existing properties, as well as looking for a new site."
