OLD CULVERHAYSIANS Bath Rugby prop David Barnes handed out the prizes when Old Culverhaysians junior section held their end of season awards.

The under-13s celebrated a great season, having won more than half of their matches and coming third in the South Coast International Rugby Festival. The coaches were impressed with the boys' achievements and each player received a medal in recognition of their contribution.

Ethan Chilcott, the son of Bath legend Gareth, was presented with the captain's award for his leadership throughout the year, while Matt Holmes received the coaches' player of the season prize.

Other awards went to Harvey Dellow (players' player), Connor Jarvis (most improved) and Rhys Williams (top try-scorer).

Barnes congratulated the team and confirmed that Bath would be continuing its support for the boys by holding training sessions at the club again next season.

Summer training will commence on Thursday evenings at Odd Down Playing Fields in July. New players of any ability are welcome to attend and interested youngsters entering Year 9 in September can visit www.oldculverhaysians.co.uk for information.
