“bath seems to have higher bus fares and mediocre-to-non-existent services. Greater Bristol and parts of south glos have had fares reduced and services increased recently. For example, Bristol's Firstday ticket is 4 gbp, reducing to 2.90 after 19:00. It's equivalent in bath is 4.40 gbp reducing by 30 pence off-peak. Clearly, no reduction for travelling after 19:00 as there are hardly any buses in bath then. More at - http://tinyurl.com/c5pojw8
This is in line with my experiences. In the early 1990s, I was part of a group of 4 adults and 4 children who had tea and cake at a small bath teashop. The cost was over 20 gbp. In Bristol, we had a light meal - with far better quality food - for less than that.
Hopefully, poundland will begin an era of sensible pricing.”

“Although not out of keeping with Westgate Street which could do with a traffic free zone makeover the Poundland branch in York not only has a very stylish frontage and colour scheme but also overcomes the "everyday" issue with the slightly inaccurate "yes, everything's £1" which is also at the Bedminster store and probably others but too many to google..”

“In keeping with the 2% success rate of getting the long term unemployed into work I wonder if Poundland only has 2 paid employees and the rest of the of the time is manned by unpaid labour? Good going Poundland, the sum total of the success of the scheme :/”

“"I assume Poundland have Boycotted the disastrous coalition workfare scheme now??
Otherwise my joy is shortlived."
Apart from managers, I believe all staff were recruited via the Work Programme, thus giving jobs to the long-term unemployed.”
