A bogus gasman has stolen jewellery from a Bath woman’s home during a distraction burglary.

The 35-year-old victim let the offender into her house in Roundhill Park and left him alone in one of the rooms for a very short period of time.

After he had left she realised he had stolen some earrings, a diamond ring, a gold necklace and a small amount of cash.

The incident happened on Friday at around 1.15pm.

The offender is described as white, in his 20s, about 6ft tall of a slim or lanky build, with short blonde hair which was longer on the top than the sides.

He had an earring and was wearing a dark t-shirt or polo short with dark trousers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bath police on 0800 4567000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
