Plea to stay safe after sex attack on son
The mother of a 19-year-old man who was subjected to a sex attack in the centre of Bath has urged other young people to take care and stick together after dark.
The victim, who lives in a nearby town, has reported being raped near the Theatre Royal on a night out in the city centre with friends.
He has had to take time off work and is undergoing specialist post-rape counselling.
His mum said: "I just don't want what happened to him to happen to anyone else. I want to warn young people not to go out on their own."

She said her son had coped well in the immediate aftermath of the attack, in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, October 13, but was now on medication.
He had been with friends but had parted from them to call his parents for a lift home when the attacker struck.
His mum added: "He's just out there. I'm worried he's going to do it again. It's horrendous."
She said police had been very supportive in the wake of the incident.
No description has been issued of the attacker and police are continuing their investigations.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101.

“It's about time this sort of thing was taken seriously, and perverts are locked up for the good of society for a very long period.”
