Plea for help with Claverton clear-up
Volunteers are needed to help with a clear-up operation at a flooded landmark.
Part of the Claverton Pumping Station has been underwater but manager Pete Dunn is hoping that levels will have subsided enough for him to get in today to survey the damage.

A project involving the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust is restoring the waterwheel but the flooding is likely to have put this back by several weeks.
Luckily, engine equipment is upstairs in the building.

There is going to be a clean-up session this Saturday and Mr Dunn said: “If there is anybody who had considered volunteering for us, but who had not got around to getting in touch, we would love to hear from you.”
