Pens tossed away as pupils spend the day talking
Put your pens down. That was the message of a day of activities at Bath's Oldfield School.
It took part in No Pens Wednesday – an event organised by the Communications Trust to encourage schools to develop speaking and listening skills in their pupils.
Lessons in the humanities faculty involved no writing and instead were dominated by debate, discussion and group work.
A spokeswoman for the school said: "This was a fantastic opportunity for students and teachers alike to embrace the school development target of developing oracy as a learning tool."
