Parish councillors are to issue a questionnaire to help them decide their stance on plans for a new park-and-ride site in their village.

Bath and North East Somerset Council wants to build a £6.3 million car park at Bathampton to serve a park-and-ride route in and out of the city centre.

The village's parish council last week discussed the 1,300-space scheme at Mill Lane, which would replace B&NES's previous first choice site of Lambridge.

The new location would be accessed from the Batheaston bypass via a traffic signal-controlled junction.

The parish council will include the questionnaire in its next quarterly newsletter, which goes to 770 households.

The questionnaire goes out at the end of October, which chairman Tony McCann said would enable responses to be received in time for it to make an official response when B&NES actually applies for planning permission.
