New BANES education supremo appointed after drink-drive resignation
A new cabinet member for early years, children and youth has been appointed at Bath and North East Somerset Council after the resignation of the authority’s deputy leader Councillor Nathan Hartley.
His Liberal Democrat colleague Councillor Dine Romero, who is the current deputy mayor of Bath and who represents Southdown, will replace him at the cabinet table.

He said: “I’m delighted to be adding Dine to the cabinet. She has played an extremely active role on the council in the past and is an extremely hard worker representing residents in Southdown.”
Mrs Romero added: “Significant challenges are faced by Bath and North East Somerset Council to ensure that children and young people enjoy their childhood and are prepared for adult life. The council must play its part in tackling the problem of higher local unemployment amongst younger people by giving them hope through supporting them to learn new skills and life experiences. I look forward to working hard alongside our partners to achieve this.”
She attends her first cabinet meeting tonight.

“Thanks Mr L, it would be great if you and Chalker could help. Will be in touch with a contact for you both after your riverdance stuff and let the charity know of you both :)”

“"I agree there is nothing to 'red arrow' about in VV's post but sicko? Over dramatic don't you think? Just ignore the arrows, they don't control on how someone reads a comment and whether they agree with it or not. "
Totally agree. In any case, isn't the future of red arrows uncertain? - http://tinyurl.com/9ttetgr”

“Now what on earth is there to red arrow in Viscount V's post? If you did it, please have the courage to explain what on earth you objected to. Because the rest of us are baffled by it.”

“With you on this one VV.
I know Dine and am sure she'll come up to Nathans standard, although I believe he'll be a hard act to follow.
As for MentoringPlus, count me in when I get this river sorted out. i.e. This November.
Bryan and I are committed to putting our next years Ward Initiative Fund money to youth projects next year.
(What sicko red arrow such caring comments?)”

“I don't really know Dine, I hope she's as approachable and helpful as Nathan was. We're part way through a MentoringPlus publicity exercise within the council and Nathan was invaluable. I look forward to Dine picking up the project and helping the charity, the council, our Party and hers to get word out still further.
Please take a look here and see if you can help http://tinyurl.com/8z3vklk
Perhaps our Independents, fellow posters and Conservatives can get on board in publicising this brilliant organisation among their contacts, members and colleagues and help MentoringPlus find Mentors for young people?
Who's a likely Tory member at the Guildhall to contact please?”
