Detectives say a young man was spotted running away from the scene.

Shop owner Raffi Montana, who only opened his business four months ago, said he was trying to continue as usual despite the setback.

He said: “They drove a Mazda through the front window and damaged the door frame, the glass and the electricity box. They also damaged a lot of our property.

“Luckily we can trade because we have three or four rooms at the back, which all have licences so we have just moved trading back there.”

The 32-year-old, from Batheaston, said he did not believe he was the intended target of the attack and was speaking to police to help with their investigation. He and police believe he might be the victim of a case of mistaken identity

He said: “I feel disappointed, because we are very clean living and we have got a lot of clients coming from all over the country.

“We have had two people come down from Manchester and we wanted to show them our nice, new studio, and we have got this. It is embarrassing.”

Nothing was taken from the shop during the attack.

Anyone who saw the incident or witnessed anything suspicious is asked to call Bath police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

Nothing was taken from the shop.
