“Quite right baldbat07. These boys with mens faces with their big boys toys need to learn that roads aren't an adventure playground. They should take their toys and play at places like Castle Combe race track where they belong.”

“There is no real argument for this guy, he was speeding and therefore broke to law. There is no defence for this, regardless of what speed his motorcycle or any motor vehicle is capable of doing, speed limits are in place for a reason. Why should they not apply to him or anyone else? No one is above the law regardless of what vehicle they drive. I really cannot understand how anyone can defend his actions. A few years back my husband's friend lost control of his motorcycle on a bend whilst speeding and was killed and only 2 months ago my niece's 27 year old boyfriend was killed in a head on collision with a car, he simply lost control at a high speed and careered into an on coming vehicle, game over and now my niece is honouring him by passing her bike test and purchasing a motorcyle herself which scares the life out of me. I am not against motorcyclists and I believe car users can be equally irresponsible when behind the wheel when driving at stupidly high speeds. More common sense and perhaps some relfection on their own mortality should be applied? No one is invincible!
People, don't loose sight of the real topic and start going on about anti women, feminism, prison time and arbitrary numbers lets just be grateful no one was hurt in this instance and have faith the reckless idiot will be more responsible in the future along with other motorists.
R.I.P Alistair and Ben.”

“Yes Moe, because guns and motorcycles are exactly the same aren't they?”

“I think we've all lost the plot on this one. Any driver or rider caught doing 128mph on a public road is a criminal and should be locked up and banned from driving for a very long time.”

“Well, I reluctantly have to agree with Malcolm on one point. The one advantage a big bike has over other vehicles is its acceleration. On one occasion - on the A36 as it happens - I exited a roundabout onto a dual-carriageway stretch and accelerated back up to (I guess) around 60mph when a lorry (obviously assuming that everything on the road behaved like a lorry) pulled out in front of me to overtake another lorry, doing about 25mph. My options were to dump the bike, hit the back of one of the lorries, or overtake both of them before the oncoming car arrived, which the bike's power allowed me to do.
However, as I said, this has absolutely no relevance to this story. To call it a "victimless crime" is ludicrous: shooting a gun randomly into a crowd does not become acceptable just because you happen to miss everyone.
Sadly, yet another example of Malcolm's eagerness to engage keyboard before brain. I guess that makes me a typical lefty...”

“...it's the way you expressed the concern...in fact it's the way you express most of your concerns...usually contrary and always from a higher standpoint than anyone else...
You havent crowbarred in a reference to 'lefties' or socialists on this motoring thread yet? Oh....hang on...you have...
"""It is absolutely typical of the left that, once again, faced with an argument that challenges their ideological prejudice, they resort to smearing the individual when they have facts to argue with. Contemptible and pathetic."
Well done.....”

“Right, so in your view, expressing concern about boys falling behind at school and at work is anti women?
Truly, truly pathetic.”
