Money will ensure that rugby gets its stadium
I am disappointed but not surprised by your trumpeting of the attempts by Bath Rugby to construct a large stadium in the heart of this World Heritage Site, and I note that in order to pad out your lavish support for the club you report issues more than once.
The statements from Craig and Blofeld are platitudinous, as what your report them to have said is so predictable and won't wash with those of us in Bath who care about the quality of the heritage of Bath and know that any stadium however it is designed will have a totally unacceptably detrimental impact on this part of the World Heritage site, the conservation area and the riverside environment.
All previous consultations have been biased in favour of the club as they have a direct line to all their supporters to encourage them to respond in favour of staying at the Rec.
The most recent consultation with the Charity Commission was just before Christmas and very poorly advertised to the citizens of Bath. Craig will naturally say that any new stadium will be world class and which the city will be proud of and which will add to the beauty of Bath. He would wouldn't he? The depressing truth is, is that his millions will buy his way through the courts, the planning committee lack the courage and judgement to resist all the lobbying and Bath will end up with Craig's legacy for ever, a legacy that he could much better achieve at Lambridge and spare us all this grief.

“I am not a nimby but i think barters that justifiably their opinions on a stadium will carry more weight than yours or mine, even if there is an odious majority in favour.”

“Ha! barters, what about bias in previous consultations, including the review by the Charity Commission, totally undermining credibility of impending decisions either on the status or role of the Recreation Ground Trust or future planning applications submitted by the rugby club?
Check your facts about the procedures followed because numbers will have no bearing.”

“Ha! What about the lobbying in favour of the stadium which far exceeds those that are against it! Check your numbers, if the time comes and the planning committee needs to be lobbied you might find your repetitive and odious views drowned out by supporters of the project.”
