Mike Perrott signs for Bath City ahead of first friendly
A host of trialists will be out to impress tonight when Bath City kick off their pre-season campaign.
The game at Cirencester Town, as well as Monday’s home match against Hayes & Yeading United (both 7.45pm), will give manager Adie Britton the chance to see his potential signings in competitive action.

“We have got six trialists with us and I would be happy to sign any one of them, they have all impressed me,” said Britton.
“We need some left-sided cover, a striker and a utility player so we will monitor them and I will probably be looking to sign a couple of the trialists permanently in the next week or so.”
Britton will be taking a squad of 20 to the Corinium Stadium tonight, with each player getting at least a half of football under their belts.
Among the squad will be former TeamBath midfielder Mike Perrott, who signed a contract on Tuesday.
“I see Mike as a right-sided midfielder and potentially a fourth striker,” said Britton.
“We do not think we can carry four permanent strikers in our squad but Mike had a good goal record last season and he should be able to provide cover up front. We will play him there in a couple of our friendlies.”
With Perrott joining Gethin Jones, Sekani Simpson and new signing Sido Jombarti in the squad, City have plenty of cover on the right but are short on the left following the departure of Martin Slocombe.
Britton said he was ‘disappointed’ with both Slocombe’s decision to join Weymouth and the manner in which he went, saying the left back had not spoken to him since verbally agreeing to sign a new contract in April.
But he has two possible replacements on trial and says any signing would have to be adaptable.
“We can’t just sign someone who can play left back alone if we only have a squad of 16 players,” Britton added.
