Mighty Max bags giant slalom bronze at Welsh Championships
Young skier Max Schubert continued his run of success with a pair of excellent results in the Welsh Championships at Les Crosets, Champery, Switzerland.
The Avon Ski Club member followed up a fourth-place finish in the slalom on the opening day of the competition with a bronze medal in the first giant slalom event.

A fall in the second giant slalom denied the nine-year-old from Wellow the chance to add to his tally, however.
Max said: “I was really going for it on the second run and caught my pole on the ground, which unbalanced me.”
