Midge Ure hit in face with custard pie at concert

Singer Midge Ure was left with more than egg on his face when a fan pummelled the star with a custard pie at a concert.

The unidentified female fan ran on stage during Ultravox's concert at the Hammersmith Apollo in London last week.

Ure, who lives near Bath, said on Twitter that his team were aware of the woman, describing her as “sick”.

He also tweeted: “Worst part is I'm on a sugar and carb-free diet and I hope it was alcohol free.”

The incident, being referred to as ‘Triflegate’ was captured by a member of the audience on a mobile phone and the footage uploaded on YouTube.

The woman has also been blamed for the star not signing items and meeting with fans after Ultravox's concert in Ipswich last night.

The group are on their Ultravox Brilliant tour in Britain and Europe until November 8.
