A memorial event has been held at a Bradford on Avon school for a 16-year-old boy who died suddenly earlier this year.

Harvey Johns was found dead at his home in Batheaston back in October after suffering a cardiac arrest.

A statement from his mum Jennifer and sister Arrianne, who were at the memorial event, thanked everyone for their kind words and support during a difficult time.

It said: "A big thank you to the school and the teachers for looking after Harvey in the time he spent at St Laurence.

"The garden has been made really beautiful and the bench was a lovely idea. We also want to thank Harvey's friends for being there for him."

His dad Iain added: "I was impressed by how polite and supportive Harvey's friends were. I can really understand why Harvey fitted in so well at the school.

"He will never be forgotten and will always be in our memories. He has certainly left a big hole in our lives."

Friends have also been leaving tributes on a Facebook group called RIP Harvey Johns, which has had more than 1,200 likes.
