Melksham residents hear possible future for Melksham House
Residents who attended the Melksham Area Board meeting on Wednesday heard of possible plans that could transform Melksham House.
Melksham Area Board announced at the meeting at the Assembly Hall the proposed plans to turn Melksham House into a leisure centre with possibilities including: a six lane swimming pool, a library, cafe, bowling complex and a sports hall.

Melksham House could be home to a six lane swimming pool in the future.
An introduction was given by the Melksham Shadow Community Operations Board who provided a background into the project.
The Area Board also explored the plans speaking and finalising the layout of facilities and that the development of Melksham House will take into account of the existing facilities and services on the site which includes the bowls club's green.

Jonathan Seed, the Melksham Area Board Chairman said: "This really was an exciting meeting and I'm delighted the hall was packed out with local residents. It just goes to show how much the campus means to the community area."
The next area board meeting will be held Wednesday, 12, December 2012 at Melksham Oak School from 7pm.
