Longleat to reveal ghoulish secrets this Halloween

Longleat Safari and Adventure Park will be hosting various ghost tours which will give people an insight into some of the ghostly secrets hidden at the park.

Longleat has always had mystery and intrigue across the estate and visitors will get a chance to see some of the ghostly areas where infamous ghosts have been known to roam.

Sightings of the second Viscount Weymouth's wife Lady Louisa Carteret (also known famously as the Grey Lady) has been seen wondering around Longleat House supposedly searching for her footman who was murdered by the order of her jealous husband. 

Visitor Manager, Ruth Charles said: "We've had numerous reports from both staff and visitors that there's 'something' in the atmosphere at various locations in the house and we will be visiting many of them as part of the tour."

The tour will give people an opportunity to view some of the darkest places of Longleat House and uncover stories from its history. 

"The tours are a unique opportunity to venture into the lost rooms and corridors of this great house and who knows what our investigations might uncover?" Ruth Charles added. 

Other Halloween events at Longleat include: firework displays, pumpkin carving and a chance to meet Dracula in the Bat Cave. 

The Ghost Tours will be held from October, 20, 2012 until November, 4, 2012.
