Late goal avalanche condemns Larkhall Athletic Ladies to Yeovil Town defeat
It was fifth time unlucky for Larkhall Athletic Ladies as their long-delayed Somerset County Senior Cup quarter-final at Yeovil Town ended in a harsh 7-1 defeat.
After being washed out on four previous occasions, the hosts hired an all-weather pitch to ensure the tie would go ahead.
Larkhall played well in the opening stages and took an 11th-minute lead when Michelle Monroe slotted the ball through a narrow gap at the near post.
Yeovil levelled three minutes later but Larks continued to match their higher-league opponents until the hour mark, when two substitutions prompted an avalanche of goals.
