LARKHALL The under-16s maintained their slim advantage at the top of the table with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over local rivals TeamBath Arsenal.

Trailing to a long-range strike after an even first half, Larkhall stepped up a gear after the break but squandered several chances to equalise.

Eventually a high ball into the box was headed on by Jack Rowlands and, after sidestepping two players, Will Oswin steered a good shot into the corner.

Alex Battrick and Jago Edgworth kept the TeamBath attack relatively quiet as Larkhall pushed forward in search of a second, which arrived when the excellent Brad Norris put Jack Rowlands through to score.

TeamBath missed a gilt-edged chance to equalise immediately and Larks made them pay when a good cross by the energetic Joseph Davies was headed home by leading scorer Rowlands.

Larks now need to win their remaining three games and hope results go their way to become league winners.

The under-13s extended their unbeaten run with an impressive 4-1 victory over Frome Town Youth.

Caleb Collins, Harry Horn (2) and Jake Notice got the goals.
