Larks finally progress in Vase replay
FA VASE Larkhall Athletic progressed to the third round of the FA Vase after finally overcoming hosts Longwell Green Sports 2-1 in a delayed replay.
The match had been postponed three times since the teams drew 0-0 at Plain Ham a fortnight earlier and was eventually staged on a Sports pitch that looked like it had recently witnessed a re-enactment of the Somme.

A game of limited quality ensued and, despite a bright start, Larks fell behind when young keeper Jamie Walters spilled a cross from the left and allowed Ben Downes to score from close range.
Ben Thomson hit a post before half-time, while forward Luke Clarke suffered a worrying head injury before recovering to finish with the man-of-the-match plaudits.

The introduction of Jamie Lyons for Thomson after the break made a difference and his strong header from Simon Gilbert's accurate cross levelled the scores.
Larks increased the pressure and, with extra-time looming, Nat Auckland fired in a long- range cross which was deflected into the net through a melee of players.
The visitors' victory set up a home tie with Hellenic League outfit Kidlington on Saturday. Larks were due to return to Toolstation Premier Division duty last night with a home game against Radstock Town.
