Larkhall Athletic Ladies dumped high-flying Tottenham Hotspur out of the FA Women's Cup after a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

The Bath girls triumphed 4-3 on penalties after the game finished 1-1.

A record crowd of 100 watched the twice-postponed third round tie at Plain Ham on Sunday.

And they didn't have long to start celebrating as Larkhall took the lead in the 13th minute when Emily Harrington lobbed the 'keeper from wide on the right.

FA Premier League Southern Division Spurs hit back and only desperate defending and inspired goalkeeping from Nicki O'Connell kept the home side in front.

Both teams had chances after the break and just as Larkhall were dreaming of a memorable victory the visitors struck in the last minute.

Char Rooney was dragged out of position and Spurs' Wendy Martin slide the ball past O'Connell to take the game into extra time.

The pace of the game told during the extra period and it was down to penalty kicks to decide the tie.

With the score at 3-3, the fourth Tottenham penalty was hit wide. After Larkhall slotted the next penalty, up stepped O'Connell to save the visitors' final kick to put her side through.

Larkhall travel to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday as they continue their cup run.
