Lambern defeats Crombie at Bath Approach
BATH APPROACH Brian Lambern ended Dennis Crombie's unbeaten record in Division 2 of the seniors' competition, despite losing three of the first four holes.
The gap was cut to one at the turn and Lambern won four out of six holes in a purple patch coming back before holding on to seal the points.
John Sercombe's best round since May 2011 helped him inflict a comprehensive victory over Tiger Lewis and move two points clear at the summit. Lewis was two down at the turn and lost eight of the second nine holes as Sercombe came back in two under par.
Roger Randall remains in contention at the top after a good second-nine performance against Ingrid Doherty. The pair were level at the turn but Randall went two up with six to play and confirmed victory on the 17th.

In Division 1, Richard Randall made a great back-nine recovery to secure a draw with the in-form Sue Norris. She was three up at the turn but saw her lead wiped out before Randall clinched a share of the spoils at the last.
Mike Fear achieved his second league victory of the season after a late recovery took him past a spent George Thurston, who was two up at the turn. Thurston held his lead until the 15th but Fear's pressure finally told and he won the last four holes.
Terry Selway went top of the table after a last-gasp win over the previously undefeated Malcolm French, who twice cancelled out his one-hole lead coming back.
Reg Morris gained a hard-fought win over Bernard Roots to reach the second round of the Knockout Shield. Morris made the better start and re-took the lead with four to play before sealing the win with a birdie at the 17th.
Colin Gamlin's dominant performance on the front nine was enough for him to overcome Tony Damon, winning with two to play.
John Grubb achieved victory with two holes left after a close-fought contest with Craig Jones.
Colin Lee achieved an excellent victory over Bob McGregor to get off the mark in the Secretary's Cup, wrapping up his win on the 16th.
Brian Wickham made a successful start in the competition with a comfortable win over Brian Woodford, who was defeated with two to play.
