Keynsham are the winners at Avonvale rugby tournament
Bathford Hill played host to six teams on Sunday as Avonvale RFC staged an under-13s rugby festival, which was won by Keynsham following a 12-0 victory over Minety.
The host club had to settle for fourth place overall after they lost 15-5 to a Corsham side featuring many players who attended the same school as their Vale counterparts.

Toby B moved the ball wide for outside centre Scott to run in the opening try for Vale but Corsham used their bigger pack to good effect to touch down twice before half-time.
The physical effort began to tell on Vale in the second period and a missed tackle allowed Corsham to score a decisive third try.

Vale had started the day by beating Combe Down 20-7 in their opening Pool 1 match. Harry broke through a resilient defence for the first and third tries, either side of a fine touchdown from Scott.
Jake then took a good offload from Harry to cross for Vale’s fourth try after the break but Combe battled hard and grabbed a well-deserved converted try.
However, Combe then lost 15-0 to Minety, who also beat Vale 10-0 in the final pool match to clinch top spot. The hosts were sucked into mauls and out-rucked by their opponents, who scored two unconverted tries.
Marlborough finished bottom of Pool 2, which included Keynsham and Corsham, and faced Combe in the fifth-placed play-off, winning 10-0 after a hard-fought contest.
All the games were played in the correct manner and the organisers would like to thank the Vale parents for helping to make the day a success.
