James Kellock struck twice from short corners to help City of Bath men's 1sts fight back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at Cheltenham in the Davis Wood League Conference North.

Great work from keeper and man of the match Ollie Canning and James Morrison ensured the first half ended goalless but Cheltenham opened the scoring with a deflected effort before following it up with a cool finish on the break.

City rallied in the last 20 minutes and Rhys Jones had a goal chalked off before a fine all-round team display was rewarded by Kellock’s late double.

The 2nds’ East Central 1 promotion hopes remain in their own hands after a 7-1 victory over Swindon B.

City fell behind before Gary Ford, Hugo Knapp and Ali Stone gave them a 3-1 interval advantage.

Four goals followed in the space of 15 minutes as the hosts started the second half in irresistible fashion, with Tom Marks, Steve James, Stone and Ford all cashing in to put City in good heart for Saturday’s trip to leaders North Wilts.

City 3rds and 4ths both overcame West Wilts opposition.

Siegfried Baber, Jamie Gowland and Joe Griffiths struck in a the 3rds’ 3-2 success at West Wilts C, while the 4ths beat the Warminster-based club’s D team 8-0 at home.
