People in Bath with diabetes are being asked to share their experiences of coping with the condition.

The charity Diabetes UK is calling for sufferers to help others by forming a support group.

The organisation's South West office is holding a meeting on Thursday, September 16, at Bath City Football Club from 7.30pm, to discuss creating a group for the city.

Its support groups are dedicated to improving the lives of people with diabetes and there are almost 400 across the country, run by volunteers who provide information and support to local people living with the condition.

To attend the meeting, ring 01823 324 007 or email south.west@diabetes. org.uk.

An offer of free loft and cavity wall insulation taken up by hundreds of home owners and tenants last year is being run once again by Bath and North East Somerset Council with help from the Centre for Sustainable Energy and Scottish and Southern Energy.

A fund of £50,000 is available after the council's housing services team secured Government funding through the Warm Streets scheme. Each property which applies could receive up to £500 for free cavity or loft insulation.

Last year, more than 240 homes were insulated in a similar initiative. To apply, call Warm Streets on 0800 512012.
