Steven Jensen hopes a change of team will mean a serious assault on his first Formula Ford 1600 title at Castle Combe Circuit this year.

The Saltford flyer has signed for the decorated Kevin Mills Racing team for 2010 and will compete in the newly-built Spectrum 011C Formula Ford.

Castle Combe's season opens on Easter Monday and Jensen's father, Erling, believes the new partnership could bring rich rewards following two seasons spent developing the Swift 09 car for Swift Cooper.

Jensen last raced for Kevin Mills, based in Saul, Frampton on Severn, in 2006 before he and Erling branched out on their own under their Jensen Racing banner.

Erling said: "Kevin Mills is the official team racing the Australian Spectrum Formula Fords in the UK and it's a great opportunity for Steven.

"The car will need to be developed but we believe between Kevin, Steven and myself we can do that very quickly and look to win the championship this year.

"Kevin is a multiple winner of Formula Ford titles at Combe and the team has no fewer than 14 championship victories.

"We're quite excited about it and we're now working hard to get the car ready for Easter Monday."

The Jensens are calling on local businesses to support their title bid through a unique sponsorship package.

Steven explained: "The premise is to sponsor the car on a per race basis. This will obviously reduce the cost of sponsoring a race car immensely.

"The advertising opportunities on the car are split into sections of sidepods, bodywork sides, rear engine cover sides and front nose cone, all varying in price dependent on their space and preference, as well as there being the added possibility of adding on corporate hospitality for customers and clients who so chose to have it included."
