Jefferies hits five as Rovers close in on the league leaders
CHIPPENHAM LEAGUE It was another wet weekend in the Robson Taylor Chippenham & District Sunday League, with the top four teams in the Premier Division all being without a game.
Box Rovers and Gladstone Arms took the chance to close the gap with victories over Potterne A and Semington Rovers respectively.
Tim Jefferies scored five times as Box stormed to an 11-2 victory, with the other goals being shared by Owen Bryan (2), Liam Fullham, Justin Flowers, Tom Smith and Simon Bray, who rolled back the years when he drove home a stunning free-kick. Ali Jaffari and Darren Lewis scored for Potterne.
Sean Rushmore's brace, including a 30-yard screamer, helped Gladstone to a 6-1 success. Shane Bell (2), Chris Cox and Craig Fullam also scored, while Stuart Barber replied for Semington while Gladstone were celebrating their second goal.
FC Bradford came from behind for the second week running to beat Bremhill View Social Club 3-1 and move level on points at the top of Division 1 with Pheasant, whose match against basement side Miller Sports was postponed.

Dave Herring, Ben Beaven, Ryan Kelleher and Dean Fry shared the goals for AFC Calne in a 4-1 victory over Atworth United, who bagged a late consolation through James Bagnell.

With Hullavington not playing, Three Crowns United had the chance to reclaim top spot in Division 2 but things went spectacularly wrong when they were thumped 10-1 by local rivals Audley.
Adam O'Keeffe's spectacular volley set them on their way and Dave Nolan added a hat-trick, with the rout being completed by Chris Yeo (2), Nick Gapper, James McLaughlin, Mark Nolan and Kieren Smith. Paul Dodimead had reduced the gap to 2-1 at one stage.
Sensible refereeing by Luke Rudman prevented the local derby between AFC Melksham and Pig & Whistle United boiling over. The hosts won 3-1 with a double from Ollie Selman sandwiching a goal from Gareth Evans against his former club. Nathan Mantle scored a late consolation.
AFC Bell eased to a 9-0 victory over Biddestone White Horse thanks to a Craig Townsend hat-trick, Gary Campbell (2), Ray King (2), Nathan Moffat and an own goal from keeper Richard Toghill.

British Lion completed a quickfire double over Corsham United, following up the previous week's 4-1 victory with a 5-0 success courtesy of Shaun Jefferies, Joe Bennett, Jamie Mullings, Martin Robinson and Danny Thompson.
It was very much a game of two halves for Southwick Wanderers, who led at the break against The Crown through Craig Harman but then lost key defenders Phil Simonot and Chris Billett to injury before going down 7-1. Tom Slater, Jonathan Emm, Dan Sloan, Liam Hill's penalty, Nick Harford and Jacob Wrobel shared the goals.
Witham Friary closed in on the Division 4 leaders with a resounding 8-0 victory over Gladstone Rovers. Ian Kennedy opened the scoring from the penalty spot and went on to bag a brace, as did Kirk Latham, while Dan Reynolds' hat-trick included a brilliant individual effort. Ashley Doel also headed home his first of the season.
Joel Lander was another hat-trick hero as Chippenham West End defeated local rivals Audley Spartans 7-1. Also on target were James Mullhall, Phil Mellor and Steve Coleman, whose brace included a volley from brother Lee's delicious cross. Jason Forde bagged Spartans' consolation.
Kevin Bance, Guy Turner, Simon Young, Lydon Cambourne and substitute Luke Cottis helped Corsham Park Rangers come from behind to beat AFC Lyneham 5-2. Matt Lang and a Chris Iddon penalty provided the home side's response.
