Jager closing in on final
CHIPPENHAM LEAGUE FC Jager became the first team to book their place in the quarter-finals of the WG Parr Trophy when they defeated Bremhill View Social Club 3-1.
Nick Ridout and Lee Jackson gave the home side a half-time lead before Ridout added a third from the spot in the second period. Nick Haigh scored a late consolation.
Hullavington joined FC Jager in the draw for the last eight due to Green Bell being unable to raise a team but the remaining six fixtures were all postponed because of the frosty weather.
The cold conditions also caused havoc in the Robson Taylor Chippenham Sunday League programme, with all Premier Division fixtures called off.
In the only game in Division 1 to go ahead, Atworth United won a thrilling encounter against Miller Sports 5-4. Ross Menghini gave Atworth the lead but Miller hit back through James Webb. Nick Groves and Ben Grinham put the visitors ahead and then Sean Fordham reduced the deficit.
Groves restored the two-goal advantage before Ian Jeffrey netted for Atworth. Menghini squared things up before Imran Shawish nicked the winner.
In Division 2, North Star A thrashed Bradford Renegades 6-2 thanks to Pete Thornton's hat-trick.
Mark Smollens and Thornton gave the home side a three-goal lead but Lance Davis' penalty and Lee Ridout's goal narrowed the gap. Thornton completed his hat- trick before two from Dan Allison killed the game.
Biddestone White Horse overcame Sutton Benger 2-1 after scoring through Chris Andrews and Scott Fleming before John Goad netted a consolation.
The match between Pig & Whistle United and The Three Crowns United was postponed, along with all five games in Division 3.
The result of the day came in Division 4, where Witham Friary emphatically beat 10-man Audley Spartans 21-1.
Kirk Latham netted five before the break while Simon Millard scored a double hat-trick. Lewis Collier added four and Dan Reynolds and Clinton Hartley bagged two each.
An own goal and a penalty from Ian Kennedy completed the rout, while Alan Woodward scored Audley's consolation.
Chippenham West End and Potterne B shared a 1-1 draw. Tom Mason equalised after Chris Jenkins gave the home side the lead.
Corsham Park Rangers held on to secure a 2-1 win over Somerford. Kevin Bance and Jake Marshall netted before Alex Braithwaite scored for the home side.
The withdrawal of X Change from the league saw their game with FC Boroughs called off, while Kings Arms (All Cannings) versus Lavington was postponed.
