Island life for Wiltshire council boss
A senior Wiltshire council executive has landed a top public sector job with a difference – as chief executive of the Shetland Islands Council.
Mark Boden, who is a former corporate director of Wiltshire Council, is expected to take up his new role on the North Sea islands at the beginning of October.
Gary Robinson, the appointments panel chair, told BBC Scotland: “Mark Boden impressed the panel with his experience, knowledge and passion for Shetland.”
Mr Boden, a former chief executive of Kennet District Council, left Wiltshire Council in 2011 as part of a reorganisation.
