Ironman Pennington too strong for the rest in Bath Skyline 10k race
Triathlete Charles Pennington triumphed when the second race in the Bath Skyline 10k series was staged on Sunday.
The Navy Ironman competitor clocked 45mins 30secs to come home at the front of a field of 30 finishers.
"We actually had 190 entries, so a few obviously bailed out but it still wasn't a bad turn-out," said series organiser Tom Room.
"Charles was running the event for the first time and looked incredibly strong."

The leading Team Bath runner was David Vaudin (47:56) in fifth spot, which also saw him finish as the top veteran over 50. Club-mate Barry Awan (48:33) was just behind in sixth, with Andy Vaudin (48:50) seventh.
Team Bath's Lizzie Wraith finished third in the women's race in 54:47, with victory going to Kerry Wray (51:41) of Southville.
"I am delighted with the way the series, which is sponsored by Running Bath, is developing," added Room.
