Ire Marchi and James Tilstone win boxing medals for University of Bath
Ire Marchi and James Tilstone brought home silver medals from the BUCS Championships for the ever-improving University of Bath Amateur Boxing Club.
It was a particularly impressive achievement by Marchi, who had no competition in her regular weight category.
However, her determination to represent the university saw her move up two weight divisions and she went to reach the final.
Marchi's opponent was heavier and taller, with her added experience also coming to the fore, but the Bath boxer was rewarded with a silver medal.

Club colleague Tilstone was also runner-up in the men's under-91kg category.
Coach Ian Lewis said: "James was really responsive to instruction in between rounds. We knew his final opponent had nine contests more experience to James' three, which is a lot in boxing at novice level.
"We did the right preparation and really surprised Dillon [Elliot from Chester University] and his coaches, although in the end his experience and fitness was just too much for James.
"I'm really proud of all our boxers and I'm hoping to get more females and males into the club to win even more BUCS points and competitions nationally."
