India marked as future star
TeamBath youngster India Sanders has earned a place on the Lawn Tennis Association's AEGON FutureStars Programme after a successful year on court.
The 13-year-old, who trains at the University of Bath, is one of 426 youngsters selected for the programme, which recognises and supports some of the best juniors in the country.
Sanders was chosen as part of the 2010 intake of players, who all receive varying levels of funding and support from the LTA.
The Monkton Combe School pupil was placed at 79th in the European Tennis Association rankings going into the new year and tops the Avon county under- 14s list.
Steven Martens, player director of the LTA, said: "Tennis is a sport where skills need to be developed step by step and we hope that each of our AEGON FutureStars will go on to reach their full potential through the support we provide."
Sanders trains with Eve Langley at the TeamBath Tennis Academy.
