TENNIS Bath's India Sanders says Andy Murray's run to the Australian Open final last month has inspired the country's top young tennis talents.

Sanders, 13, has herself been identified by the LTA as one to watch after being selected for the AEGON FutureStars Programme.

She started playing tennis at the age of four and currently trains at the University of Bath International High Performance Centre.

Sanders said: "I was watching the (Australian Open) final at a friend's house. It was a great match, he (Murray) did really well.

"I think he's good enough to win a Grand Slam but I don't know when he'll do it all the time (Roger) Federer is out there. When you see Murray play it makes you think that anyone can do it and if I keep working hard, maybe one day I'll make it.

She added: "I think if I was a professional tennis player, I'd like to win Wimbledon because it's in your home country and the atmosphere would be great."

The Bath's tennis ace has high hopes for 2010 following a successful year on the court.

"The highlight last year was winning the Tennis Europe event in Iceland," she said.

"I'm training really hard about five days a week and working on a lot of technical points with my coach.

"My next competition is the Grand Prix Masters 14 and under and then I'm going to Denmark for another Tennis Europe event, which should be fun.

"My goal for this year is to try and get my ranking down to top-50 in Europe. At the moment I'm number eight in the country so it would be good to get into the top five."
