“Kranbook, it is such a shame that you feel moved to write that about Great Western Ambulance Service crews who make daily sacrifices in order to serve the communities in which they live.

You refer to the recent Western Daily Press story (cut and pasted from a Daily Mail article) which claimed that an ambulance crew said "We'll take you to hospital . . . right after our lunch", which was, of course, a damaging and misleading headline.

I'm sure you will agree that ambulance crews must receive a meal break in an otherwise non-stop shift, particularly as their crucial role includes driving a 5-tonne ambulance at high speeds and making life-or-death decisions regarding the administration of dangerous drugs.

We can't blame you for voicing your opinion as you have clearly been influenced by inflammatory reporting by the Western Daily Press, and we/re pleased that the Bath Chronicle has not stooped so low.”

“Apology for the typo, I meant "did NOT have to wait", one must not give misleading implications for a job well done.”

“I wager the residents were extremely happy that they did to have to wait 38 minutes and 35 seconds before this "Emergency Sercice" set off to the rescue, unlike the Great Western Ambulance Service staffs who need to receive sustenance before any physical movements.”
