Singers from the Royal United Hospital choir will be entertaining audiences to support people with cancer.

The choir will be performing with the Bath Spa Band for their Summer Spectacular, which takes place on Thursday, July 12 at St Michael's Church.

All the money raised will go to the Forever Friends Appeal, which is raising money to build a new cancer centre at the hospital.

This will bring cancer services together under one roof, making it easier for patients to be treated and offering support to friends and family.

One member, Linda Bushell has a personal interest in the campaign, as she was treated for breast cancer three years ago.

Her treatment was successful, and throughout the difficult time she was helped by the choir.

Linda said: "The RUH choir gave me focus and some semblance of normality during a difficult period in my life.

"Being part of the team and singing uplifting songs raised my spirits immeasurably.

"Having been a member since the start being able to continue coming to rehearsals was very special."

Tickets are available from the Forever Friends Appeal office by calling 01225 825691 or visiting www.foreverfriendsappeal.co.uk.
