Hometown striker given Bath City chance
Former Swindon Town youth striker Jamie Taylor will be training with Bath City when the players return for pre-season next week.
The former Culverhay School pupil scored plenty of goals for the Robins' under-18s last season, helping them win the Puma Youth Alliance South West title, but was not offered a professional contract due to financial cutbacks.

Now City boss Adie Britton could offer the 18-year-old from Southdown the chance to rebuild his career with his local club if he impresses in training.
"Jamie is a Bath boy and he has scored a lot of goals at junior level," said Britton. "He also looks strong for his age."
Former TeamBath midfielder Mike Perrott could also be set to sign having discussed terms with Britton this week, while two established players with Football League experience are in talks to join on a non-contract basis in a utility role.
City hope to confirm tomorrow where pre-season training will be taking place following the end of the contra-deal with the now-defunct TeamBath.
A number of people have contacted the club offering their facilities after reading about the lack of a training base in last week's Chronicle.
Assistant manager Lee Howells and chief executive Paul Williams are now assessing five potential venues and will make a final decision tomorrow.
Meanwhile, City will revive the Coronation Cup – which was given to the club back in the 1930s – when they entertain Chippenham Town on Sunday, July 26.
Chairman Geoff Todd said: "We played an Arsenal XI for it in 1962 and more recently Trowbridge when they were our main local rivals but it has been hidden in the dark recesses of Twerton Park for some time.
"Hopefully playing for a bit of silverware will give the fixture a bit of an edge rather than it just being a run-of-the-mill friendly."
The club are looking for a sponsor for the cup, with a representative to present it to the winners after the game. Anyone interested should contact Dave Gane at the club on 01225 423087.
