Team Bath Buccs men's 1sts recorded their third win on the bounce with a 3-0 derby success at Firebrands.

With a number of key individuals missing through illness and international selection, Buccs made the short trip to Bristol looking to maintain the pressure on the sides above them at the top of the England Hockey League Conference West table.

They took the lead midway through the first half when Tim Davenport flicked home a penalty corner after he forced the ball onto a defender’s foot.

Had it not been for some committed defending from Tom Griffiths the home side may have drawn level but Buccs held on until the break.

Buccs went 2-0 up in the early stages of the second half when Sam Hatherley flicked home from close range and Ben Carless added a third from a penalty corner moments later.

The visitors should have gone on to extend their lead but wasted a number of opportunities to record a more eye-catching scoreline.

Buccs host University of Exeter on Sunday (1pm) and know a win will see them replace their visitors in the top three.

Meanwhile, an eventful weekend for Buccs Sabres B saw them fight back from 4-0 down to earn a draw with Marlborough before beating Swansea City 5-2.

After turning in an abysmal performance for the first hour against Marlborough, the hosts salvaged a point by netting four times in the last ten minutes.

Two goals from Nathan Hancock, an Alex Tapping penalty stroke and Rob Atkins’ short-corner strikes with the last touch of the match completed an incredible recovery.

Alex Lloyd scored twice and forced an own goal from the Swansea keeper in Sabres’ second home game in as many days.

Alex Tapping and Luca Signorelli were the other scorers before Swansea replied with two late efforts.

Buccs Admirals C and Pirates D shared the Central 1 spoils after a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

The Ds took the lead from a short corner early in the second half but Admirals hit back when Alex Menezes was brought down by keeper Freddie Everett and Luke Emerson tucked away the resulting penalty flick.

Admirals extended their unbeaten run to nine matches with a 0-0 draw at home to Sidmouth & Ottery A on Saturday, while the Pirates suffered a 7-3 defeat at Bristol University B.

Vikings E produced their best performance of the season to defeat Westbury & UB B 7-0.

Fell and Borton formed a dangerous pairing up front and bagged three and two goals respectively, while the evergreen Fairweather and E team debutant Tucker rounded off the scoring.

Buccs Ancient Mariners F claimed the bragging rights as they beat City of Bath 3rds 2-1.

Warren opened the scoring and Longley grabbed the winner with two minutes remaining.
