Hard work recognised
Young people from across the district have been celebrated by Bath and North East Somerset Council for their achievements in gaining valuable skills for life.
The council held an event at the Guildhall to recognise the hard work and dedication of young people in volunteering and developing new skills by attending activities and training events at their local youth hubs and projects.
More than 150 people attended the celebration event to see young people being awarded for their achievements such as volunteering, being involved in staff recruitment, first aid, babysitting and sports leadership.
Councillor Dine Romero (Lib Dem, Southdown), cabinet member for early years, children and youth, said: "It's fantastic to be able to celebrate the achievements of so many talented and motivated young people right across our district. These awards – coupled with the continued support of our youth service, are a great example of the council's commitment to ensuring there are activities and opportunities which help young people to make a positive difference to their lives and communities."
