Long-time club servant Kelvin Hancock has been appointed as the new manager of Timsbury Athletic.

He was assistant to Wayne Moore last season and will be looking to redress the decline in the club's fortunes, which has seen them drop to Division 2 East of the Errea Somerset County League.

Timsbury's reserves, who won just one match in the Mid-Somerset League Premier Division during 2011-12, also have a new man in charge – Joe Towells, with Paul Cracknell as his assistant.

Another major change sees Martyn Sage step down as secretary after more than 20 years to be replaced by Amanda Hookings.

Sage will continue as treasurer and, at last week's AGM, produced a balance sheet which showed a drop in income mainly due to the club only running two teams.

However, two sets of kit have been promised for next season by Rob Lewis and Tim Smart, and there are no debts outstanding.

Chairman Mike Passingham thanked Moore and the committee for their hard work during the past year but said he was disappointed that, despite an excellent youth set-up, there was still no sizeable progression into the senior sides.

Pre-season training starts next week and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Recreation Field from 7pm. New players are welcome to attend.
