Life's a picnic for a postgraduate student from the University of Bath.

Luke Tregidgo has set up a new company that delivers picnic hampers crammed with local produce.

Luke, who is studying for a PhD in aerodynamics, teamed up with professional chef Daniel Minty to put together a selection of sandwiches, pies, salads and desserts delivered to homes or workplaces in a cool-bag or hamper.

Among the Bath Picnic Company's offerings are the Claverton Hamper and the Victoria Hamper.

Luke, who is chairman of the university's entrepreneur group Banter, said: "The summer picnic is a British tradition and so Daniel and I wanted to provide hampers using the best quality locally sourced produce.

"We go to great lengths to make sure everything is ethically and environmentally sound, even down to biodegradable plates and cutlery."
