Grub and rugby the reward for completing fundraising walk
Men of all ages will be stepping out next weekend in a fundraising walk for Dorothy House and the Bath Rugby Foundation.
So far 160 men have signed up for the Bath Men's Walk challenge on February 23, which will see them walking the eight miles from Dorothy House, in Winsley, to The Rec, where they can celebrate their achievement with a pie, a pint and the Six Nations clash between England and France on the big screen.
The walk was launched earlier this year with the help of former Bath and England player and BBC rugby pundit Jeremy Guscott, whose mum Sue, was looked after by Dorothy House.
Now his dad Henry Guscott, has signed up to do the walk, in memory of his wife, who died of cancer in 2009.

Henry said: "I'm looking forward to doing the walk. At 75, I expect to be one of the older ones taking part – and I will, I hope, be accompanied by some younger friends. We'd like to raise as much as possible for Dorothy House, as they do such good work with so many people in this area. My dear wife was looked after so well when she was a day patient there – she really enjoyed her visits. The staff and volunteers are so good at helping people to get the most out of their lives, even if they don't have a great deal of time left."
Dorothy House event organiser Phillippa Watson said: "There's still plenty of time to register for the walk – and people can even sign up on the day if they wish."
The walk starts at 1pm and is open to men and boys, aged 12 years or over on the day of the event. The entry fee is £15, and all walkers will be expected to raise sponsorship money or make a personal donation in lieu of sponsorship, with a suggested minimum of £50, or £25 for under-18s.
People can register online on www.bathmenswalk.co.uk or contact the hospice fundraising team on 01225 721480.
