Getting rid of the stigma surrounding mental health
An event was held at the Guildhall to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
To mark World Mental Health Day, organisations from across Bath came together to offer support and advice to anyone living with mental health conditions.

The event took on the theme of Take Away Mental Health, and included activities such as singing, yoga and movement.
It aimed to celebrate the lives, achievements and successes of people living with mental health conditions, and to reduce the stigma surrounding it.

Organisations taking part included Creativity Works, an arts development charity based in Radstock.
The charity delivers arts projects in the community, enabling social engagement and development of participants.
During the event a film of poetry and montages was shown, giving an insight into coping with the stigma of mental health.
Bath Mind organised a service user walk from Sainsbury's at Green Park to the Guildhall and supplied a cafe at the event.
The charity is an independent voluntary organisation working towards a better life for people diagnosed as mentally ill.
Volunteers from homeless charities St Mungo's and Julian House were on hand to offer help and advice.

“There is no stigma at all surrounding mental health. Not even a little bit. Now, mental illness on the the other hand, has many negative connotations.”
