Generous donations help charity appeal hit £100k
Generous donations from people in Bath have helped homelessness organisation Julian House to reach its annual appeal target of £100,000.
Since the beginning of December, individuals, companies, churches and other organisations have been showing their support for the appeal.

The £100,000 is a third of what Julian House needs to keep going every year, and the charity concentrates its fundraising efforts over the winter months because of the increased awareness needed during colder weather.
Fundraising manager Cecil Weir said: "Times are tough right now and although the vast majority of people haven't lost their jobs, there is quite a lot of caution in the economy.

"People and businesses are being very careful what they do with their money and I'm sure this applies equally to their charitable giving.
"The fact that they have rallied round so enthusiastically to our Christmas appeal gives us great heart. Only by explaining the breadth of services which are needed to address the wider issues can you ever hope to inform the public. Providing a bed is the relatively easy part of what we do, much harder is the process of identifying why someone has knocked on Julian House's door in the first place."
Its fourth Big Bath Sleep-Out takes place in Alice Park in March, and organisers are hoping this will be the biggest one yet.
The event on March 8 is open to anyone who is able to sleep outside, and children under 16 are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
For more details and a sponsorship form contact Cathy Adcock on 01225 354656, email cathya@julianhouse.org.uk or visit www.julianhouse.org.uk/ support/bigsleepout.
Outstanding money for the appeal should be sent to 55 New King St, Bath, BA1 2BN, made payable to Julian House, or online at www.julian house.org.uk.
