OLDFIELD A lengthy injury list forced Oldfield to call off Saturday's scheduled South West 1 West contest at Cullompton.

The Shaft Road outfit currently have 17 players sidelined, five of them picking up injuries in the previous weekend's 26-13 victory over Clevedon. Others were unable to make the lengthy trip to Devon due to work commitments.

Oldfield's reward for their bonus-point success against Clevedon – their only win of the campaign to date – has been wiped out by the five-point deduction imposed by the RFU following Saturday's cancellation.

They now find themselves propping up the table but hope to have some of their walking wounded back for Saturday's home game with the side one place better off, North Dorset.

“Bath's highest ranked club ? The number one priority is to honour fixtures. How can the 2nds play at home and win by a cricket score but the club couldn't raise a side to travel to Devon.
If the club is so concerned about its image that it felt necessary to remove all unfavourable comments from its website it needs to honour its fixtures.”
