Future funding on offer to voluntary groups
Voluntary groups and organisations are being invited to apply for funding from Bath & North East Somerset Council to develop services for young people.
The Future Fund supports one off or on-going activities and opportunities for young people in the area with grants of around £5,000.
The Council works with young people aged 11 to 25, prioritising work with 13 to 19-year-olds across Bath and North East Somerset and is also keen to support the voluntary sector in its activities.
Councillor Dine Romero (Lib-Dem, Southdown), Cabinet Member for Early Years, Children and Youth, said: "Bath & North East Somerset Council is committed to supporting activities and opportunities which help young people make a positive difference to their lives and communities. We hope that the grants will help to launch some aspiring projects as well as supporting new ideas from existing providers of youth services."

The overall amount of funding available from the Future Fund, which replaces the Youth Enablement Fund, is £60,000. Organisations are eligible to apply for funding if they are non-statutory, not for profit, and inclusive. The first closing date for applications is Thursday January 4, 2013.
Voluntary sector development worker, Karen Mitchell, is available to support organisations throughout the application process and will also be an on-going source of guidance and support as youth provision is developed.
Decisions on grants will be made by a funding panel which includes young people from Bath and North East Somerset. They will meet in January and March 2013 to make decisions about the recipients of the Future Fund.
Full details, criteria and conditions for the funding are outlined in the small grants application pack. To request a pack, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org, telephone 01225 396916, or write to Karen Mitchell, Youth Service, Children's Services, PO Box 25, Riverside, Temple Street, Keynsham, Bristol, BS31 1DN.
