Frome Road, Radstock set for resurfacing
Improvements to the road surface at Frome Road, Radstock will be carried out by Bath & North East Somerset Council from 25th March 2013 for up to five working days.
The 1,300 metre stretch of road to be improved runs from around 80 metres south of Hannover Court up to approximately 25 metres past the Charlton Timber Store. The project is part of the Council's £2.62 million road resurfacing investment programme in 2012/13.
Councillor Roger Symonds (Lib-Dem, Combe Down), Cabinet Member for Transport, said, "Our substantial investment in proactive road resurfacing improves the quality of the carriageway and helps prevent potholes occurring. Bath & North East Somerset Council is aware that local people are very keen to see this stretch at Frome Road being resurfaced and following the completion of the project this aim will be achieved.
"The programmes of improvements we are making really are making a difference on our roads. For example, in the last two years the amount the Council has paid out to drivers in claims due to pothole damage has decreased by ninety per cent."

Managing the road resurfacing
The Council would like to thank residents and motorists for their patience whilst the work takes place. The works are taking place during the Easter school holidays to reduce the impact on traffic flows.
There will be a temporary road closure in place when work is taking place. This will be between 7am and 7pm with access for residents and emergency vehicles only. Traffic Marshalls will be on hand at the barriers to provide advice. Full diversions will be in place with signage at critical locations.
